What Are The Causes Of Oligoasthenozoospermia & Its Ayurvedic Treatment

Oligoasthenozoospermia, also known to be oligoasthenospermia, causes male infertility, when the two seminal parameters like sperm motility and sperm count get altered. Hence oligoasthenozoospermia is a disorder, where the asthenozoospermia and oligozoospermia are combined that aggravates the infertility in affected males.

To achieve a natural pregnancy with oligoasthenozoospermia can be complicated, but the good news is, it is possible. If you can’t conceive, choose Ayurvedic treatment at Khokar, instead of going for an in vitro fertilization to become parents.

Oligoasthenospermia or oligoasthenozoospermia is the sperm disorder which involves two disorders simultaneously.

Oligozoospermia

The count below 15 million sperm/ml is considered as a low sperm count.

Asthenozoospermia

With abnormal sperm motility, almost 60% of sperm are immotile or not able to move in a straight direction. Due to this sperm disorder, there is a less chance for a sperm to hit the egg to undergo fertilization. It ultimately leads to the male infertility and prevents natural pregnancy.

Causes

To establish the unique cause of Oligoasthenozoospermia seems difficult. This condition gets unnoticed until a man decides to have a baby. Here are the following causes of Oligoasthenozoospermia in men:

  • Unbalanced diet.
  • Infections in seminal ducts.
  • Exposure to toxic agents.
  • Cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
  • Testicular trauma.
  • Hormonal imbalances.
  • Genetic diseases like Y chromosome microdeletion or Klinefelter’s syndrome.

Alterations in sperm parameters are caused due to the combination of these factors.

Lifestyle has the major role in determining the sperm’s quality. Alterations will affect spermatogenesis leading to Oligoasthenozoospermia or other sperm disorders.

Ayurveda can manage the condition of Oligospermia and it has a holistic and comprehensive medical system to treat these conditions. Ayurveda can keep a person’s mind, spirit, and body in perfect sync with the nature.

According to Ayurveda, the Oligospermia is correlated to Shukra kshaya. Though none of the ayurvedic texts tells about the sperm count or motility of sperm, they clearly explain about the semen quality as the form of Shuddha shukra Lakshana. It means that semen which is sticky, white, sweet in taste, heavy, more in quantity and looks in honey or ghee colour can always be fertile.
