Teratozoospermia is also known as teratospermia. It is caused due to an abnormal sperm morphology. This sperm disorder affects men and produce abnormal shaped sperms.

Affected males likely have low chances to make their couple get pregnant. This depends on the severity of their condition. It leads to one of the causes of male infertility

There are several treatment options available to get a baby even with an abnormal sperm morphology. The condition of teratozoospermia combines with different pathologies like sperm motility and sperm count.

What do you mean by Teratozoospermia ?

The term teratozoospermia means the abnormal sperm morphology caused by the defects in the tail, head, and midpiece.

Even a 4 % of sperm that has a normal shape makes the male fertile and it can cause pregnancy in women.

Seminogram or semen analysis can examine the sperm’s morphology. Specialists take a dye test to check the morphology of sperms under the microscope.

In many cases, the condition of teratozoospermia can be treated. If teratozoospermia is caused by infections, fever, or stress, the person can produce normal sperm once they recover. But if it’s due to unhealthy habits, you must follow a balanced diet to improve the sperm quality.
