What are symptoms associated with Herpes ?

Sores appearing on the moth or genitals are the common symptoms of herpes. But at times, there might not appear nay symptoms.

Not displaying any symptoms

At times herpes symptoms are confused with other things such as flu, ingrown hairs and pimples. Symptoms are said to come and go. However, it does not mean that infection has been eliminated completely or others may not be affected with it. It can stay in the body for life, if left untreated.

Genital herpes symptoms

Painful blisters or itchy sense in the vulva, vagina, penis, cervix, anus, butt or interior of the thighs are some common symptoms. Blisters may turn into sores. The other symptoms faced are:

  • Having trouble when peeing due to swelling and sores blocking the urethra region
  • Burning while peeing if urine touches herpes sores
  • Pain around genital region
  • Itching

If HSV-2 causes genital herpes, then flu-like symptoms may be experienced, like:

  • Tiredness and itchiness
  • Headache
  • Chills
  • Fever
  • Swollen glands within the pelvic region, under arms and throat

Outbreak is caused if genital herpes and blister symptoms appear. Initial outbreak begins around 2-20 days after infected with herpes.

Oral herpes symptoms

It is less painful and does not make the person sick. But, it does cause sores around the mouth and on lips, termed as fever blisters or cold sores. On having symptoms, sores may take place inside the mouth, but only during initial few times. Cold sores last about few weeks and go away on its own!
