Treating Infertility in Women due to Tubular Issues with Ayurveda

The fallopian tubes of the women are recognized as one of the sister organs by the Ayurveda. They play a vital role in conception. The three doshas governing the body are also important in maintaining the functionality of the reproductive organs. The vitiation in any of the three doshas results in imbalances and irregularities in menstruation cycles and sometimes, infertility. Tubular complications like blockages are due to localized doshas within the tubes. The Vata and Kapha are the two important Doshas governing the well-being and optimacy of the reproductive organs, especially the tubal optimacy. About 25% of the infertility cases are caused due to tubular blockages or infection which hinder the fertilization process.

The Charaka stresses the tubular health to be of great importance for a successful conception. Although the Charaka mentions that tubal blockage is pronounced in cases of secondary infertility caused due to post-partum infection affecting the reproductive organs.

Hence, the primary reason for the occurrence of the tubal blockage is the infection to the reproductive organs. With STDs and STIs on the rise, the tubal blockages and infertility like symptoms due to this condition are a harsh reality. The PIDs, Endometriosis and pelvic surgeries are few other factors which put you in the risk zone for tubal blockages. A study also observed that about 37.5% of cases of tubal blockages have had a history of tuberculosis.

As the majority of the tubal blockage cases are triggered due to the infection to the reproductive organs, a treatment will begin with a detoxification procedure. This detoxification is aimed at flushing the toxins out of the reproductive organs thus making them receptive to the further line of treatment. The actual treatment aims at balancing the Kapha and the Vata which is vitiated in cases of the tubal blockages. In extreme cases, Uttara Basti is recommended with kumari taila. The tubal conditions are a result of a complication occurring to the reproductive organs.

At Khokar, the Cell Detoxification and Regeneration therapy work to dissolve the adhesions by balancing the Vata and the Kapha doshas. This treatment is always preceded by a detoxification therapy. During the treatment, you are advised to follow certain general guidelines.

  • Refrain from sexual activities when the STDs and STIs are the cause of the tubal blockage.

  • Consume fiber-rich and dosha balancing diet recommended by the doctor to optimize the results.

  • Do not use modern chemical washes for cleaning the vagina. Always clean your private parts in lukewarm water.
