Ayurvedic Medicine for Low Sperm Count

A lowered sperm count does not indicate you are suffering from Oligospermia. If the sperm motility parameters are causing this lowered count, the condition is called Asthenospermia. If the count is less than 20 million sperm per ml, it is called as Oligospermia. If the count is nil, it is termed as Azoospermia. The International Journal of Research in Ayurveda has published a research work on the herbal preparation named as Chlorophytum Boivilanum and Tribulus Terrestris and its efficacy in curing Oligospermia.

There is also a verified scientific research published for treating men with lowered sperm count using the root of Ashwagandha. The supplement was administered in the form of a capsule to a group of 21 men aged between 22 to 40 years.

The herbs like Ashwagandha and Tribulus Terrestris are known to work towards balancing the hormones and hence aid in the spermatogenesis. A malfunction occurring during the production of sperms or presence of sperm antibodies or hindrances in the sperm motility may result in lowered sperm count. The herbal remedies help tone down the reproductive organ functioning and hence regulate the sperm levels in the semen.

Although the herbs are potent one should not take them without consulting an expert opinion. In cases of Diabetic patients, the herbs may not have optimal results. In such a scenario, a herbal concoction suitable for the patient body type may be prescribed. You can begin an exercise regime and stick to it to overcome the depressive emotions attached to this condition.
