Treating Premature Ejaculation with Ayurveda

Premature Ejaculation, according to the philosophy and principles of Ayurvedic medicine is caused by aggravated Vata. Early ejaculation takes place when Prakupita Vata gets into the Shukra dhatu. This comes under vata’s gatatva concept that is characterized by clinical presentation group which tends to include seminal impairment and ejaculatory, termed as Shukravritavata or Shukragatavata.

Shukragata Vata’s clinical presentations are Shukra Atiyega (early ejaculation), Shukra Ayega (delayed ejaculation) and the inability to afflict/impregnate Garbha vikrithi / Nishphalatyam (premature/fetus birth).

Vata as per Ayurveda is referred to as vitality and life, as well as all embodied beings’ supporter. It helps to sustain life and helps people to be free from disorders. The body’s terminal tissue element is stated to be Shukra that is regarded as the essence (Saara) of other tissue elements. It nourishes the Ojas (vital essence). In Ayurveda classics, both concepts are considered to be superior.

Ayurveda is regarded to be an ancient medicine system that is unique and its objective is not limited to providing cure, but also to prevent the disease from occurring. Vata pacifying treatment or Vatahara chikitsa is treatment of premature ejaculation or Shukragatavata including aphrodisiac (administration of Vajeekarana) and medicines that delay ejaculation or control premature ejaculation (Shukrastambhaka), oushadhis or dravyas.
