Why Track Your Ovulation?

Women in the modern times have to manage the work and domestic front simultaneously. The deadline stress at the workplace or at the domestic front may expose them to continuous anxiety. Stress is the major factor which is the main cause of many health disorders. Difficulty in conception is a common ailment found in the modern nuclear families.

In general, a woman suffers from ovulation and menstruation problems. When a woman focuses on the body signs and watches out for disorder symptoms any disease can be treated in the initial stages. Tracking the ovulation of a woman can help identify issues of infertility in the early stages. It also helps the couple plan the conception accordingly.

When does ovulation take place?

If the menstruation cycle length is 28 days, the ovulation may occur in between the 13th to 15th day from the last date of menstruation. When a woman observes irregular periods, it gets difficult to observe the signs of ovulation.

Vaginal discharge method

It is the basic method to ascertain ovulation. This may not be true if the woman is suffering from an STD causing abnormal vaginal discharge. Otherwise, a wet, white vaginal discharge which resembles a raw egg white is one of the indications of ovulation. Some women may also observe ovulation pain which is present as an uneasy irritation on one side of the stomach.

The BBT method

Basal Body Temperature is one of the practical methods of tracking an ovulation in a woman. Use a BBT thermometer to get accurate temperature readings. If the successive increase in the BBT nears 0.4º F, it is an indication for ovulation. When this is coupled with breast tenderness, increased sex-drive, abdominal pain etc, it is a sign of ovulation. The BBT must be recorded early morning as soon as you wake up. Make it a habit to wake up at a regular time. The gradual increase in the temperature will peak to 0.4º F in about six readings. It may take few months to recognise the exact day of ovulation when the temperature recordings are charted.

When the ovulation cannot be tracked by any of the methods, it is an indication of a health disorder in its initial stages. It is best to seek medical attention in such a scenario. Opting to use home remedies may sometimes suppress the symptoms of the condition but does not treat it. It is best to seek expert advice regarding such an issue.
