In addition, he notes that clarity and normalcy of&#8217;manas and hridaya&#8217; (the mental state), properly functioning vayu (nervous system), acceptance of shukra (semen) by the yoni (vagina), i.e. deposition of semen high in the vagina, proper aahara (food and digestion), vihaara (good conduct and lifestyle of the couple), vichaara (thought process, mental stability), and bala<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Causes of male infertility according to Ayurveda<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Shukra dosha <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Defects in semen- volume, morphology, motility, sperm count, obstruction in the genital tract or erectile dysfunction)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Ativyayama<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (overexertion leads to vitiation of the vata dosha, which is the number one cause of infertility) (overexertion leads to vitiation of the vata dosha, which is the number one cause of infertility)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Aahara dosha<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (improper food habits, not consuming a balanced diet, in turn leading to defective digestion, vitiation of the tridoshas-vata, pitta and kapha, which causes malnutrition)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Vihara dosha<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ( abnormalities in lifestyle- over exercise or not exercising at all, late nights, alcohol overconsumption etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Loss of balance or strength\u2013<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> debilitating diseases, trauma to genital organs, muscle weakness, infections, or stricture causing obstructive pathology, which may result in infertility.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Manasa doshas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 refers to mental stress, inability to concentrate, which may result in premature ejaculation or impotence.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Psychological Impact Of Male Infertility<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Infertile couples are distressed by their inability to procreate. Men and women react to infertility differently. For men, infertility causes anger, despair, resentment, feelings of worthlessness, anxiety about potency, masculinity, and sexual inadequacy. Infertility is known to induce marital disagreement and stress, which in turn may lead to erectile dysfunction and exacerbate men&#8217;s fears.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is essential to recognise the distinction between infertility and impotence.
